Its been nice to have some decent weather this weekend, I think the whole of Wellington has been despairing the possibility that summer will *ever* turn up. I has certainly become a common topic of discussion.
It has been a particularly nasty winter in some parts of the southern coast. This tree near the middle of Miramar is showing obvious signs of a salt storm from the south some time in October.
All around are damaged hedges and shrubs.
Meanwhile, I have been silly enough to plant some veges in the backyard. The wind over the last couple of weeks has battered them into submission. Although they are all still struggling away, the buttercrunch lettace is resembling some sort of beet, the leaves are so gnarly. The beans decided that it was too cold to stick their heads up, so I think it's time for another sowing.
