There is a very serious and immediate threat to the ecosystem on the beach under Fort Dorset.
The only clump of native pingeo on the whole stretch of beach, (and quite likely, as far as I can see, the last remaining clump of pingeo on the Miramar Penninsula) has become a victim of the foot and bicycle traffic which tumbles over the hill from Seatoun.
Whereas the introduced marram grass can tolerate the traffic, this clump is doomed if it is not protected from the yahoos.

This is an instance where direct action is appropriate. Scavenge some posts from the ample supplies displayed in skips nationwide and contribute some wire and staples. Build a fence to deter the traffic. No-one will complain and I applaud your efforts.
